Most of us have interacted with robotic devices in some form or the other in our life – today when we think of robots, we tend to picture automated people that are capable of independent movement, operated either by a virtual person or by mechanical means. If you are an eager student looking for a chance to build a robot by yourself in a stimulating, non-competitive environment, the Workshop conducted by The Amateur Scientist 2019 is the place for you!

In this workshop, the goal is to build a light following robot. Here, students will be using LDRs (light dependent resistor) as the light sensors. Because of its resistance varying capacity depending on the intensity of the light, the output signal from the LDRs are used to activate the motors – hence, enabling the robot to follow light.

1. Teams of 2-4
2. Kits will be provided to each team on the day of the workshop, hence students do not have to carry any materials with them.
Students can participate in teams of 4.

The workshop will be conducted in two slots:

Slot 1 10:00 AM – 12:00 AM

Slot 2 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
